Alright, alright - I'm a little crazy thrilled about this because DAMN it's been a long time since I've finished knitting anything, especially something of this size and difficulty - and it's so pretty and I love it and and...
I guess all of this downtime in Roswell has been good for something.

The pattern is this hooded pullover from Vogue Knitting Summer '05:

I used something like 13 balls of Trendsetter Spiral in Copper/Copper. The yarn was a pain to run down because it was already discontinued when the magazine was published, but it was worth finding. It's a really unique and beautiful yarn and I am happy that I was able to work with it. I think that it really makes the sweater. And I love the undeniably brassy pumpkin color. It's obnoxious.
I modified the sleeves to be shorter (I want long sleeves to peek out from underneath it in the fall and winter) and added slits to make the sleeves flare out, but it's a bit extreme and I think that I may seam them shut.
About 36 hours of actual knitting time, spread out over the course of a very long year.
I made the smallest size because I anticipated that the boxy shaping would make me look very frumpy if I didn't play it a little snug, which is why the lace looks a little bit larger on mine than on the model. I have boobs.
Anyway, photos!
Lace, brooch... one of the few photos that turned out okay.

View of the back, the way that the hood sits and length. Excuse the shoddy flash covering, I'm no master in Paint and that's all we have here. Also, please notice my butt. I think it's getting smaller since I've been away from skating for so long. I am not happy about this.

Here are some views of the front of the sweater in varying degrees of inscrutibility. :b

Details of the lace, still blurry and the colors in the first photo are VERY inaccurate.

View of the sweater all spread out, to show the very boxy shaping (which worked in this case! Shock!).

Hurray!
